As spring arrives and summer is round the corner maybe you are thinking of getting the garden sorted and the flowers growing. Maybe you are spending lots of time in the greenhouse in preparation for the season.

Carpet tiles could provide a great solution for the flooring in you greenhouse, not only practical but they will brighten up the space too.

Tent Flooring

It won’t be long before the tents are out for festival and camping season here in the UK so along with all the rest of your necessary equipment why not throw in a few carpet tiles. Going along to any big camping shop and you will be able to buy tent carpet, big pieces of carpet that you either roll or fold up. The problem with big ‘sheets’ of carpet are that they are exactly that! It means if they get damaged, soiled or torn then you have to replace the whole thing. Whereas with carpet tiles you only need to replace the one that has been damaged, making it a lot cheaper in the long run.

Bedroom Flooring

Ok so this is a pretty normal use for carpet tiles but you can use them in more creative ways than just sheet carpet. It is possible to create checkerboard style designs from two colours, or maybe stripes using two or more colours. You can mix and match colours such as grey, beige and blue with bursts of brighter colours such as red,orange, yellow and pink. Just add in odd tiles for a more random design or to mark out areas of the room. Depending on your cutting skills you can do all sorts of designs from jigsaw pieces to road maps to lettering.

And best of all carpet tiles are tough, they withstand the wear and tear of a children’s roomfantastically. They are also easy to replace, justpick it up and swap it with another tile.

Dog Beds

Carpet Tiles as dog bedding may not be the first thing that springs to mind but what great way of using up those odd tiles. Just use the carpet tiles underneath the dogs bed, this is especially good if the bed is on a cold,guard floor. It just acts as an extra layer.

Alternatively if you use a crate for your dog or are crate training then you can line the bottom with carpet tiles. Not all crates come with a tray in the bottom and this means the metal is exposed. Even with a bed it may not be comfortable. A bit like the princess and the pea scenario, so use carpet tiles to line the bottom of the crate. As carpet tiles are so durable they are a great option and can be easily cleaned and replaced cheaply. Why not give it a go!

Fabulous Rugs

Ok so maybe its is a little obvious but it is also ridiculously easy to create a rug out of carpet tiles. Maybe you want to update your flooring but can’t afford to do out a whole room, or need to add some colour to an otherwise boring space. Just get a few carpet tiles together and come up with a design. Maybe a checker board or stripes or just a random collection of colours, the choice is yours.
